W.I.N.E. Psi Phi Social Service Organizational Inc. 

W.I.N.E. stands for We Initiate New Experiences. 

The goal of our organization is to promote cultural, political, economic and social change through involvement within our communities.

The organization of W.I.N.E. Psi Phi was founded in 1962 at Howard University. 

It was during this time that the men and women of W.I.N.E. Psi Phi decided to bridge the gap between the academic community and the many Social Service organizations in Washington, DC. 

Many of these groups were crying out for help in educating young people who were academically as well as socially challenged.

W.I.N.E. participated in the struggle for equality and freedom. We carried the struggle into the community; with a thrust for unity. 

The mission of W.I.N.E. is to promote "unity is the community". 

Unity is important to address any struggle.

W.I.N.E. is very proud of our past and present contributions to the community. 

A few of our current activities in the community are:

-School supply and book bag drive at start of the school year for children that are housed in shelters.

-Food Basket donations to a predetermined grammar school to help feed less fortunate families at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

-Angel Tree donations to give gifts to the children of incarcerated parents. 

-Clothing and household item donations to families that are housed in certain shelters. 

Our goal today remains the same as it was in the past. 

To develop programs in the community to help young people gain a sense of awareness and pride. 

To help young leaders strive to attain their goals.

Create change; for the betterment of our community.
